Here are some of the events that we have been meaning to post, but due to weather conditions we have been delayed....or maybe we have just been slacking a little.
First of all we have had our first visitors (not counting my parents, sorry Mom and Dad), and we were fortunate enough to have been invited to two of the most well organized functions in quite some time.
In I.F. we attended a baby shower for friends, Steve and Brandy. The party was hosted by Ben and Mandy. If anyone is in need of a party planner I highly suggest Mandy! (I am guessing she did more of the planning than Ben).
The attendees ages ranged from 0 to 38ish and the activities included beer drinking from a baby bottle...
to treasure/sticker hunts. There were fun activities for all!
Since we have been so slow, congratulations are in order. Baby Flint has been welcomed to a wonderful family! Congratulations Steve, Brandy, Ayla and Flint!
Visitors:
Andy, Sasha, and Gray came to visit for the weekend. Thanks for the visit! We always love your company. Although the weather was not optimal for sledding, it did not stop Gray and Liza from giving it a try.
Birthday Party!
The second function we attended was a birthday party for a 4 year old. Happy birthday to our new friend, Olivia! We decided to be crafty and make her a gift. The goal was a top like the one that Ruby and Duffy gave Ivan a while back.Ivan, Liza and I went to work in our new big shed.
It is a big improvement from our I.F. less than one car garage. Why were garages in 1952 so small if the cars were so big? I could not turn an eight foot board around without banging into at least one light bulb, but those complaints are for another time.
Ivan and Liza traced the patterns for the project.
Liza soon became somewhat distracted by her tricycle.
Ivan later became distracted by a purple shovel. We completed the prototypes just in time for a quick cup of warm milk and a nap before the big party. The end result looked like this: It was accompanied by some paint and paint brushes so that Olivia could decorate it as she liked. It seemed to be a hit and only cost us some scrap wood, 1 piece of string and 36 working hours.
and last of all a few days of SPRING!
Spring has not been nearly as well organized as it could have been this year. We have had snow and rain and other non-spring like weather. I think next year we when it is time to welcome spring, we are going to call Mandy to plan it.

Seems like you guys have been busy. Hopefully we will get to come visit some time soon, that is if you ever answer the phone. We miss you guys here in I.F. (and Ayla really misses playing with Ivan and Liza). Love you guys!
